As the only key school of higher education and the only school of 'project 211' among all art institutes in China, the Central Conservatory of Music should grasp the opportunity to develop modern long-distance music education. In this paper, the authors introduce and describe the existing conditions (the status quo) of the Modern Distance Music Education College in the Central Conservatory of Music from the following aspects: specialized setting up, course establishment, quality of the faculty, number of students, and conditions of study, among others. In addition, the authors prefigure and foreshadow the future development of the Modern Distance Music Education College.
